Grade: B+ | Genre: Drama
Summary: I'm not recommending this film to everyone. While it is a very good film, you have to go into this one with an extremely open mind and a cast iron stomach because it will test your faith in humanity. |

Starring: Kevin Bacon, Kyra Sedgwick, Mos Def, Benjamin Bratt, Eve & David Alan Grier
Director: Nicole Kassell
I go to films asking to be challenged. I want a film to trigger an emotion, regardless of what that emotion may be. The Woodsman answered the call, taking me to the brink and, for a moment, past it. There is one scene where I almost turned off the film because I was so disturbed by what I saw. Instead, I took a moment to pause it and step away. After I caught my breath, I thankfully returned to see the critical moment of Walter's redemption, but it was a trying call to make. This is a harsh film dealing with an extremely difficult subject matter -- child molestation. It's worth the look, but proceed with caution.

Could Amazon join forces with Netflix and Blockbuster Online to begin a new foray into the online rental industry? This partnership, which could also include Walmart, would allow Amazon to get their foot through the rental doors stateside without spending the millions it would take to set up their own service. Amazon currently provides online rentals in Britain to test and monitor their potential, but it looks as if things aren't shaping out the way they intended. Read more.
Too Much Tube Time Can Turn Kids Into Bullies

Good to know. I'll be sure to have Pat Jr. (if he ever gets here) practicing his golf swing rather than be fixated on Reality TV, which is probably screwing up kids as we speak. Read more.

Grade: A- | Genre:
Rock
Summary: The Clarence Greenwood Recordings is a showcase of one man's talent and the broad influences that have helped to shape his sound. It blurs the lines of genre and is a must have for your changer. |

I guess commercials are good for something after all. These days, those quick 30 second opportunities to run to the bathroom have become a good source of discovering new and obscure music you otherwise would never find our your radio dial. We did it when we stumbled upon Telepopmusik during a Mitsubishi commercial and again when we learned about Dirty Vegas from the same auto company.
Last week, before I had a chance to step away for a commercial break during an episode of The Office, I found myself being sold the Pontiac G6. However, its failure to make me want to buy became my gain as the brief little tune used in the commercial attracted all my attention. Forget how much horse-power the G6 delievered, my focus was on finding out more about the music. Thanks to our friends at Google, the name of the song was "Son's Gonna Rise" by little known artist, Citizen Cope.
Matthew Jay Lives on in Final Album

Late 2003 was a particularly tragic time for music as we lost two of its most promising young artists, Elliott Smith and Matthew Jay, in the span of a month. While Elliott Smith had an album (from a basement on the hill) finished and awaiting release at the time, allowing fans one last glimpse into this tormented soul, the same wasn't true of Jay. I made my way to Jay's website and discovered that another album, ...Too Soon, was released last October compiling early recordings and rarities available only via his web site.
