Crash draws crowds as box office stumbles

In a summer movie season when Hollywood is wondering why people aren't flocking to the box office, one film has made its unexpected mark. The remarkable race relation's drama Crash featuring the talents of Don Cheadle, Sandra Bullock and Matt Dillon has brought in a very diversified viewer base shooting its four-week total to $36 million. Usually a high browed film like this would be released in the fall to put itself in contention for Oscar, but the studio felt it could have a good showing in the summer market.
