Actress Anne Bancroft died of cancer Monday at Mount Sinai Hospital. She won the Oscar for best actress in 1962 for playing Helen Keller's teacher in the Miracle Worker. She collected three additional Oscar nominations during her career as well as a Tony for her work on the stage. She is perhaps best known as the tempress older woman who seduces Dustin Hoffman in the Graduate. She was a talented actress whose presence will certainly be missed.
