It's been 17 years since Sly blew up everything and evidently it is time for him to don the war paint and the rippling muscles of Rambo again. Rights to the franchise had been caught up in corporate red tape and just got cut free when the Weinstein's threw in the towel at Disney. Stallone at 58 will be writing the screenplay as well as playing the lead. Far be it of me to state the obvious, but isn't Sly a little old to be hanging off of helicopters and slugging it out with the bad guys?
