EasyGrade: B | Genre: Drama
Summary: Easy is less a description of how Jamie deals with her promiscuity, but rather how life could be if she would just open her eyes to what's right in front of her....Its simplicity strengthens its honesty and helps all those involved to shine brighter.

Easy there! What you think this indie flick is about is only part of the story. Calling a movie such a name is only certain to create poor assumptions about this honestly sensual, but rather more sincere look at a young woman who lives life on a whim.

On the surface, Jamie Harris is a single woman jumping from one sexual relationship to the next. She's carefree and treats each sexual encounter as if it were an impulse buy at checkout. A deeper look reveals a lost soul whom you can't take your eyes off of. Easy is the opposite of what life is for Jamie; however, it is easy to become totally engaged in this young woman making impetuously wrong choices in life and love when the right one was in front of her all along.

Jamie is young, totally sexy, and cleverly smart. One with quick wit, she is able grab your attention and bend and twist it however she pleases. She works a very interesting career as a product namer and lives a simple life absorbed in men more interested in bedding her than wedding her.

After a night at a poetry reading by her former college professor, John, the two do more than exchange numbers and begin a monogamous and loving relationship. Though hers was a revolving door of men in and out her bed, Jamie's love life has always been spent searching for that one guy that would sweep her off her feet. John is that guy and what's she's been waiting for so long. He's sincere, attentive, and as faithful to her as she is to him.

Of course, bliss doesn't last very long because we all know that finding love can't be that easy. In a sudden twist, John decides he wants to get back together with an old flame that left him just before he met Jamie. Crushed and depressed, Jamie vows celibacy for three whole months in order to regain the self-control she lost long ago. In the meantime, she builds a close bond with a local TV personality, Mick, and the two are the best of friends with benefits yet to come.

During this self-imposed penis embargo, Jamie comes into her own even though her world around begins to crumble. Lies and betrayal become way too frequent for this young soul trying to make amends with herself. She is forced to not only take a look at herself but at also those around her. In the end, it's all those elements of life that point her in the right direction towards an easy resolution.

Easy is less a description of how Jamie deals with her promiscuity, but rather how life could be if she would just open her eyes to what's right in front of her. This is a film that won't present any new ideas or perceptions, but portrays a young woman so close to getting things right that she inevitably makes it all go wrong. Its simplicity strengthens its honesty and helps all those involved to shine brighter.

Some may recognize Marguerite Moreau for her fancy ice work in the Mighty Ducks films, but lately, her choices have been more mature with Easy being the boldest. With more notable appearances in Queen of the Damned, Runaway Jury, and the television series Life As We Know It, she has made strides to break away from the kiddy image and into a young woman deserving to be in the same class as Natalie Portman and Scarlett Johansson. All have a young girl sweetness but are all able to melt sugar cubes with their own brand of sultry vigor. Keep an eye on Moreau because she will be breaking her way into your top 5 list very soon.
