John Spencer, who plays the president's Chief of Staff on NBC's the West Wing, has died of a heart attack at the age of 58. In a strange twist of fate, the character he played on the West Wing, Leo McGarry, suffers a heart attack forcing him to give up his job in the White House. Later, he recovers, returning to politics. Spencer is an Emmy winning actor, appearing on LA Law and films such as Copland.
