Will 'Arrested Development' Find New Life on Showtime?

The bugles were already playing taps for the quirky, fledgling Fox comedy Arrested Development when the network effectively pulled the plug on the series, slicing the third season episode order from 22 to 13. Just as a spot was being dug in the television graveyard for one of television's funniest shows, talks are swirling about that the Bluth family may just be getting a change of address to Showtime. Talks at this point are said to be in the very early goings, and that the tab would be a hefty one for the cable network to take on with the show's extensive cast. Arrested Development won the Emmy for best comedy series in 2004 and has been a constant darling of the critics, but the viewers have been hard to come by in its two year run. Hopefully the show will see new life on the more savvy cable channel tier of the dial.
Also keep your eyes peeled this season for a little Family Ties connection as Jason Bateman's older sister Justine will be guest starring. Michael (Bateman) will be investigating the possibility that he has a long-lost sister named Nellie Bluth. Some rumors floating around on the Internet were linking Justine as Michael's love interest on the show, which is much too icky for words.
