'Brokeback,' Phoenix Score at Globes

Brokeback Mountain was the big winner at the Golden Globes Monday night, taking home four awards including best dramatic film and directing credit for Ang Lee. Felicity Huffman won best actress for her portrayal of a transsexual in Transamerica and Philip Seymour Hoffman took actor honors for his work in Capote. Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon won best actor/actress combo in the musical and comedy category for their work in Walk the Line. For all its accolades, Brokeback has emerged as the frontrunner in the Oscar race for best picture though no gay-oriented film has ever won the top honors. As for television, ABC was the big winner scoring with Desperate Housewives as best comedic series and Lost as best drama.
