Music Midtown Stops the Music

Atlanta's biggest music festival is calling it a day after a 12-year run. Promoter Peter Conlon said the decision to end the grand yearly event stemmed from factors like low turnout over the last three years, inclement weather and problems relocating the event from Piedmont Park. Conlon said that in a good year the event would pull in 300,000 music lovers. The 2004 festival pulled in a mere 60,000. Other problem areas included competing with Vibefest, neighbor protests, more expensive talent and higher ticket prices.
