Searching for a Wedding Singer?
The original members of R.E.M reunited for the second time since Bill Berry’s departure in 1997 to play, of all things, the wedding of one of the band’s road crew. Lucky wedding guests and bowlers at the Athens, GA (R.E.M.’s homebase) fairlanes, Kingpins Bowl & Brew, saw a 7 song set including “The One I Love,” “Permanent Vacation” and “Radio Free Europe.” Good to see these living legends not too big to scale down. Though, don’t count on Stipe and the boys playing your kid’s bar mitzvah.
